What’s the difference — except that health care for children is far cheaper?

What is a good health insurance for children with special needs?

My son is on a feeding tube due to a small bowel transplant he received last year. My husband and I are returning to a full work schedule and our health insurance (Tricare) does not cover a nurse for him, or special daycare because his only special need is the feeding tube and the medication he receives through it. Apparently that’s not enough. So is there a good company that I can purchase insurance through who will cover these types of things for him?

The poor have medicare, children have WIC.

Is it just people trying to get more successful people to buy their insurance so they can drive a nicer car instead of paying for it them selves.

And don’t quote me the 47 million number, they include illegal aliens, which is the vast majority of that number. So if you are going to say it, tell me who they are. People who could buy it but choose not to.
I am glad the kids an needy have insuarance you are missing the point of the question.

How ’bout they tax Big Macs and Triple Stacks to pay for children’s health insurance?

The newspaper this morning says that the Democrats want to tax cigarettes in order to make health insurance available to all children. Isn’t obesity a growing problem among our children? Couldn’t we get children the health care they need, and at the same time reduce their risk for health problems by taxing the foods that are making them fat and unhealthy? Instead of bringing the tax on cigarettes to $1, why don’t we bring the tax on Happy Meals up to a $1? I don’t think parents would be so eager to stop at McDonald’s or Wendy’s instead of cooking if it costed more.
The statistics show that most people who smoke live in poverty. Raising the price of cigarettes is not going to deter these people from smoking. All it will do is take money from their children to continue to support their habit. Actually, I think we should tax fast-food and spend that money on stuff to actually help smokers quit - stuff other than hotlines.
All debating is welcome!!
Well, Democrats want to keep poor people from moving into their neighborhoods. They give them everything they need (welfare, foodstamps, free healthcare) as long as they stay in the projects. They want to keep these people down - they make it hard for these people to get out of the system to do better with their lives.
I am with you on “no new taxes” but I was just offering an alternative -Something to think about.

Although, thinking about it more, since more poor people are the smokers, they would actually be paying for their own children’s healthcare, instead of relying on the working man to support them and their families!
Also, the unemployed people who smoke and sit on their ***** all day who are usually handed everything on a silver platter are going to be the first to complain because now they will actually be affected by taxes!!

About to open a charity for a children health issue, however, I do not know what to back. So if you have any idea of a serious health issue for children that needs backing, any recommendation, then feel free to let me know.

Happy 2 B Me asked:

I’m trying to find info on getting insurance for a child. Does anyone know how a father that is ordered to provide the health care for his child but does not have custody can apply for programs like CHIPS. No insurance is offered through his job and I’m not sure what programs he can apply for since the child does not live with him. We are in Texas. Any info would help. Btw the mother cant qualify because of the new husbands income.

Erudite Pejorative” asked:

WASHINGTON - President Bush, in a confrontation with Congress, on Wednesday vetoed a bipartisan bill that would have dramatically expanded children’s health insurance for children in the USA.

It was only the fourth veto of Bush’s presidency, and one that some Republicans feared could carry steep risks for their party in next year’s elections. The Senate approved the bill with enough votes to override the veto, but the margin in the House fell short of the required number.

Are there any health benefits for women who have not borne children?

I am 40. Two older women at work were sharing hysterectomy stories with me. Both had had two children, both had been found to have a “dead” ovary and extensive uterine fibroids, both had been age 48 at the time of surgery. It made me wonder if my decision to remain childless (one terminated pregnancy before the 3rd month) would affect my health in any beneficial way. I have been on birth control pills since age 18.
